Kade is a native of Nebraska. Throughout high school he excelled on the baseball and track teams, and in the classroom, where he graduated as a member of the National Honors Society. He then attended the University of Nebraska Kearney, where he studied Industrial Technology and Economics and maintained a 3.9 GPA.
Active in intramural sports, he worked part time at a boat shop, and was also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Epsilon Pi Tau Honor Society for Technology. He enjoyed staying active and successfully completed a Tough Mudder obstacle course in September 2014. While on vacation in March 2015, he broke his neck and became a quadriplegic.
Kade spent six months in Denver at Craig Hospital working on physical rehabilitation. He moved back home in September 2016 to continue therapy. While at home, Kade has continued his exercise regimen, working to rebuild his strength. He plans to return to school to finish his degree and hopes to embark upon a career which will provide financial independence.
