T5 Spinal Cord Injury / Cleveland, Ohio
While riding his motorcycle on his 38th birthday in 2011, Teri was struck by a drunk driver and left paralyzed with permanent nerve damage from a spinal cord injury. He awoke in a hospital bed seven days later to be told that he would never walk again, nor use his right arm.
A very active, outgoing, adventurous and spontaneous man, Teri was now forced to come to grips with his changed world. Growing up, Teri was not a stranger to adversity and worked hard to achieve the life he wanted.
Today, Teri wakes up each morning with the belief that he will one day walk again. He is committed to working hard to achieve that goal. Unfortunately, he has been forced to work towards that goal without the assistance of insurance and pays for all of his therapy out of his own pocket.
Getting Back Up is proud to support Teri with a scholarship to continue receiving the therapy he needs at Buckeye Wellness Center in Valley View, Ohio.
