C4/C5 Spinal Cord Injury / Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky
Kathryn was just 12 years old when she sustained a life altering spinal cord injury after diving into a pool on the Fourth of July. The injury robbed her of the ability to move anything below her neck, including the ability to breathe.
After almost a year of rehab, Kathryn moved back home with her parents and continued her rehab while attending school. Years of intensive therapy led to her regaining some upper and lower extremity movement.
Now, 10 years later, she has graduated from college, managed to regain more function, and maintain an extremely positive attitude. She has only begun to scratch the surface of the goals she seeks to attain.
Getting Back Up is proud to support Kathryn with a scholarship to continue receiving the therapy she needs at Barwis Methods Training Center in Plymouth, Michigan.
